About
Words represent concepts, concepts are the basis of knowledge, and knowledge is presented in complext texts. To fully participate with complex texts, students need to develop a vibrant and generative vocabulary. They also need to read widely and deeply in texts that vary in complexity and topic. Dr. Hiebert will describe how vocabulary learning can be bolstered and how the amount that students read—and learn—can be increased in classrooms.
