Challenges and Solutions to Acquiring Language and Academic Literacy for Adolescent ELLs

Deborah Short, Senior Research Associate at the Center for Applied Linguistics and co-author of the recent report Double The Work, will discuss the development of academic literacy for second language learners, identify the backgrounds of adolescent ELLs in U.S. schools, and compare model programs for these students with current practices.
